So the new work rules are going well. Whilst the increase in meds almost certainly is a major player in my confidence levels, working on being a productivity ninja* is definitely helping. Lis also recommended another book, which I think I will investigate once I have finished getting through the others I also have on the go. No reviews going to be here for any of them though – wait until I get back into my Netgalley reading list for that one. I’m really good at “discovering” music that everyone else seems to have been listening to for years, but I figured […]
I’m rubbish at saying no to things and it’s not good for my health. I like to be helpful, I don’t like to let people down and I don’t like to admit that I really don’t have the skills to meet a request. I need to learn to say no, I need the confidence to say “No”. It’s one of the things that pushed me over the edge recently. I took on too much, then gave myself a hard time for not being able to cope with it all when I felt I really should, got frustrated with myself… took on […]

Relationships, our lives are built on them. My Facebook says I am “in a relationship”. This refers to my relationship with my partner, the man with the other end of our red string, but really, technically speaking, everyone on Facebook could say the same thing… every one on the planet could. From birth to death we are making (and breaking) relationships. Some are fleeting and some last a lifetime, they evolve, deepen, strengthen and weaken but they are an intrinsic part of who you are. They can be with anything, animal, vegetable, mineral, emotion, location…. so when I was given the […]
“She opened a little door and Dorothy walked boldly through and found herself in a wonderful place.” – L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz (1900) I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t like to receive a parcel of goodies. I like it even better when the goodies I receive have a bit of mystery about them. I guess that is why I enjoy my Glitterati box subscription and why I have been so excited to receive my first House of Wonderland Jewellery Club box this month. I just had to share this with you! I learned about “the UK’s first jewellery club” through #TheGirlGang and when […]
So a lot has happened since I last posted. I’ve finished that cyperbunk series (enjoyed, review in the process of being composed), closely followed by the rather surprising Steampunk adventure which is Alice’s Adventures in Steamland: The Clockwork GoddessA (very twisted, very entertaining, but not for children or the faint of heart, probably should review it properly too). In the real world the crazy people continue to kill, maim, incite hatred, troll, spout rubbish and deny rights. In my own bubble, I’ve baked, I’ve cut my own hair at least twice, it has snowed rather a lot and there have been a few storms . Oh, […]
